New York Fashion Week: Perry Ellis

Calling all beach bums – chic ones that is – to take a glance at the Perry Ellis Spring 2009 men’s collection! The upbeat techno music produced a hip group of cleaned-up muscle men straight off Venice Beach, layered in a very sporty west-coast beach-prep take on the 60’s. Soft blue linen and cotton sweaters, vests, polo shirts, pull-over jackets met relaxed linen leisure suits, modern washed jeans and skinny shorts. This all-American sportswear collection definitely delivers a new kind of preppy to modern, more edgy and laid back guys of any age.

It was a high-energy, fun and modern show! This collection is giving me plenty of inspiration for next season’s chic mix of edgy, eclectic, anything goes, west-coast meets east-coast preppy Hamptons beach house designs!
